Facts About Eyelash Extension
Women like to make their eyes look special using eyelash extensions. They are applied on natural eyelashes using a semi-permanent glue. This practice has got huge popularity among the masses and so it is very important to take some precautions, so that it won’t affect our eyes.
There are usually three types of eyelash extensions. They are silk, synthetic and mink and come in variety of sizes and shapes. They are usually applied in beauty salon by technicians with the help of tweezers. This procedure usually takes an hour or two and the eye must be closed throughout the process to a neat application. The lashes usually last for 3-4 weeks and falls off automatically.
The lashes must be applied by an experienced aesthetician with the help of skin friendly chemicals. Trauma or infection is possible on the cornea or eyelid, accompanied with allergy and even permanent loss of eyelashes. This is why it is important to handle the process in a safe manner.
The glue used in this process can cause allergies as it contains formaldehyde. It can also trigger itchiness, redness, swelling and even pain. Sometimes the vision may also get affected temporarily. The U.S food and drug administration does not regulate this glue as well as extension. If the lashes are rubbed, it can cause permanent damage to the eye follicle and can also lead to fiber getting stuck in the tissue of the eyes.
