Know About Latisse
Latisse is a recently approved prescription drug by the U.S FDA. It helps to thicken, darken and lengthen the eyelashes. The ingredients in it are same as Lumigan, which is used to treat glaucoma.
It was found out that people who use lumigan to treat glaucoma had increased length and thickening of eyelashes. This is why it was used in cosmetic purposes. However there are some side effects also such as redness in eyes, darkening of eyelid skin and irritation. In some cases, darkening of eyelids is also reported. There is no way to reverse the side effects caused by this drug.
If a person is suffering from eye conditions like macular edema, eye inflammation and glaucoma consult your doctor whether you can use latisse or not.
There are some considerations before using latisse. It is not suitable for people under the age of eighteen and it is also not recommended for people who are breast feeding and pregnant. As it is a prescription drug, it must not be used by people for who it is not prescribed. Always consult a doctor before using it. If someone is using contact lenses, remove it before using latisse and wear it after 15 mins. Do not reuse the applicator as it may cause eye infection.
Consult your ophthalmologist if you develop any eye condition.
