The World of Visually Impaired

There is no doubt that the world is so beautiful. The beauty is seen at first and then felt from heart. Imagine for a second how the non visual world could look like. Visually impaired people can also see but it not just the way we do.
Types of impairment
There are some types of visual impairment. Some people are visually impaired but can still perceive shadow and light, some used to see before but later become visually impaired and their brains remember the visual input to it. Some are considered fully blind but can sense familiar people and large objects.
When someone tries to imagine how it would look like to visually impaired person just close their eyes for a minute. Even if the eyes are closed one can see blackness. Person who are blind right from birth do not have any visual input and they see nothing, not even black or white color.
How they see
This is the part where it gets tricky. Visually impaired people, with the help of their other senses create a 3d space around them which is well detailed. Some studies and research suggest that even the people unable to detect the visual input are able to interpret some information with the help of their brains. A research from Jerusalem University has found that visually impaired people learn to use their ears to imagine and give shape to a human body. Bats and dolphins use echolocation to sense nearby and distant objects. While testing some subjects the visual cortex in brains lit up during a brain scan. Visual cortex in brain processes visual data according to neuroscientists. Nearly 40 million people are blind and 250 million visually impaired according to WHO. One must think for a minute how it is to be like visually impaired and must help people suffering from severe visual impairment.
